Topside Umbilical Termination Units
Deepsea Technologies, Inc. has extensive experience in designing and fabricating topside termination assemblies (TUTAs) for routing hydraulic, electrical, chemical or fiber optics lines. TUTAs are designed to be a stand-alone unit to interface between the Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) and electrical power unit (EPU) to a subsea distribution unit (SDU). The hydraulic, electrical and fiber optics lines of the umbilical terminate to the TUTA in an enclosed protective frame and are routed to the production control system to allow the control of subsea systems from topside.
All TUTAs are custom designed from client specifications and can include an array of valves and gauges for the rated pressure. Isolation valves and test ports can also be included to allow testing of the umbilical at the termination.
With in-house fabrication, controls and coating capabilities DTI controls all critical stages of execution from concept to delivery. Safety, quality and on-time delivery are our main objectives when executing projects to meet our client’s expectations.
Specifications and Equipment Design for TUTAs:
- Operating pressures up to 20,000 psi
- Compatible with a variety of fluids and gas mediums (control fluid, methanol etc.)
- Junction boxes and plates provided
- Flexible design to incorporate a variety of fitting and tubing depending on design requirement
- Frame analyzed for environmental and transportation vessel loading conditions as per DNV 2.7-1 and 2.7-3 as required.
- Safe area and hazardous environments, (Zone 1/2, Class 1 Division 1/2), to ATEX, IECEx or NEC (NFPA 70)
